The trailer for Seeran, the directorial debut of Durai K Murugan, was unveiled on Sunday, giving viewers a glimpse into a powerful narrative of injustice and resilience. The film introduces first-time actor James Karthik, who stars alongside Iniya, Aajeedh Khalique, and others in key roles.
Seeran draws inspiration from real-life incidents witnessed by James Karthik, who also penned the script. The story revolves around a son’s determined fight to reclaim the rights his father lost due to an inter-caste marriage. Set against the backdrop of deep-rooted societal divides, the film boldly tackles the oppressive caste hierarchy.
According to Durai K Murugan, Seeran seeks to spark conversations about the long-standing caste-based issues that continue to plague society. The film also features performances by Soniya Agarwal, Krisha Kurup, Aadukalam Naren, Arunthathi Nair, Sendrayan, and Aariyan.
On the technical front, the film boasts an experienced crew with Baskar Arumugam handling cinematography, AK Sasidaran and Aravind Jerold composing music, Ranjith Kumar editing, and Jubin providing the background score. Ayyapan serves as the art director, while lyricists Snehan and Ku Karthik lend their words to the film’s songs.
Although a release date for Seeran has yet to be announced, the trailer has already sparked interest for its gripping storyline and socially relevant themes.
