New Footage of A Minecraft Movie Released Featuring Jason Momoa and Jack Black

Excitement is building for the upcoming live-action Minecraft film, officially titled A Minecraft Movie. Directed by Jared Hess and set to hit theaters on April 4, 2025, the movie has just released new footage that showcases the film’s star-studded cast, including Jason Momoa and Jack Black.

Based on the iconic video game franchise Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time, the film brings beloved characters to life in a thrilling live-action adaptation. The recently released footage introduces viewers to Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison, played by Jason Momoa, and Henry, portrayed by Sebastian Eugene Hansen, as they team up with expert crafter Steve, played by Jack Black. Fans also got a glimpse of director Jared Hess discussing the vision behind the film.

Produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, the film boasts a strong creative team. Producers include Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Jill Messick, Torfi Frans Olafsson, and Vu Bui. The executive producer lineup features Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza, Jonathan Spaihts, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary, and Anthony Tittanegro.

Behind the scenes, Enrique Chediak serves as the cinematographer, while production design is led by Grant Major. Editing is in the hands of James Thomas, with an exciting score composed by Mark Mothersbaugh.
