Director Hemanth Rao, known for his two-part film Sapta Saagaradaache Ello (released as Side A and Side B), recently took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with the outcome of the IIFA Awards 2024. Rao was nominated for the prestigious Best Direction Award for Sapta Saagaradaache Ello – Side A, but the award went to Tharun Sudhir for Kaatera.
Despite this, Sapta Saagaradaache Ello – Side A was a big winner at the awards ceremony, clinching multiple honors. Rakshit Shetty won Best Performance in a Leading Role – Male, while Rukmini Vasanth secured the award for Best Performance in a Leading Role – Female. Gopal Krishna Deshpande was recognized as Best Supporting Actor, and the film’s music was equally celebrated. Dhananjay Ranjan won Best Lyrics, while MC Bijju and Kiran Kaverappa shared the award for Best Playback Singer – Male. Srilakshmi Belmannu took home the award for Best Playback Singer – Female.
In addition to these wins, Sapta Saagaradaache Ello was also nominated for Best Picture and several other categories, solidifying its position as a standout film from last year.
